Research profile

The research priorities already established at the Faculty of Medicine in the fields of cardiovascular diseases, neurology, urology and nephrology, gastroenterology and hepatology, musculoskeletal system, laboratory medicine and medical psychosomatics, as well as cross-faculty research with faculties already established at the university, are to be continued in the long term.

In addition to clinical research, the creation of a research laboratory has also established basic research at SFU MED itself, which was previously only possible through external collaborations, and will make a decisive contribution to the expansion of research in “translational medicine” – the combination of basic research with clinical issues.
