MED | Cardiology: Best Abstract Award for Dr Mahdi Mahmoudi of the 3C

Dr. Mahdi Mahmoudi, assistant professor of biostatistics at the the Clinical Competence Centre (3C), received the 3rd Place Best Abstract Award in Clinical Research at the 2026 Annual Meeting of the  the Austrian Society of Cardiology (ÖKG) in Salzburg.

The award was presented for the abstract Temporal Trends in Cardiovascular Risk Factors and Lifestyle Behaviors in a Community-Based Screening Population: A 20-Year Analysis (2005–2024), co-authored with Dr. Bärbel Kramer (Österreichischer Herzfonds) and Univ.-Prof. Dr. Kurt Huber (Medical Private University Burgenland).

This recognition highlights the scientific excellence and clinical relevance of this research, which provides valuable insights into long-term trends in cardiovascular risk factors and lifestyle behaviours within a community-based screening population over a 20-year period.

The findings contribute to a better understanding of changing cardiovascular health patterns and may help inform future prevention strategies.
