SFU MED makes research visible: 1st Science Conference showcases the Faculty’s scientific strength

The Faculty of Medicine at Sigmund Freud Private University held its first Science Conference on 24 April 2026. More than 150 participants came together at the conference centre of Klinik Floridsdorf to discuss current research findings, clinical projects and new opportunities for cooperation. The focus was on the research achievements of SFU MED and its partner clinics – made visible in a dense programme of lectures and in the interactive Science Village with nine research hubs.

A particular highlight was the awarding of the honorary professorship to the internationally renowned pneumologist Prof Dr Emiel F. M. Wouters, who then gave the keynote speech on the topic of “Healthy Aging”. The conference impressively demonstrated how SFU MED fulfils its guiding principle of “teach. research. care.” in research, education and clinical collaboration.
